A Rose, Kissed could refer to the song "Kiss from a Rose" by Seal, who is a well known singer in australia. He is also a Judge/coach on the voice australia. In the first line of this song he mentions a tower alone in the sea, which could poke at the idea of a game played on water. The HOLDING WEIGHT aspect may say that the alliances would work together to transport things to and from the tower to gain points within the allotted time.
Im still working on what A DINNER, MISSED might mean...
