I have had suspicions that recently the games alternate between a "concept" game and an actual sports game.

2007: Rack 'n Roll
2008: Overdrive (NASCAR)
2009: Lunacy
2010: Breakaway (Soccer)
2011: Logomotion
2012: Rebound Rumble (Basketball)
