Ya know this is kinda a pet peve of myne...
ok, get this.. the formula for friction "supposedly" doesent have any realtionship to surface area....
however it does to normal force... and normal force is in direct relation to surface area..

If what half of the ppl on the boards say was true.. you would see dragsters running on tires .5" wide... more normal force= more friction or so they say.

Personally.. I say WIDER IS BETTER! within reason of course.
