You definitely aren't the only one who would like more leniency on bringing food into the venue. However, the U's contract with vendors inside of the arena prohibits event-goers from bringing food, and that extends to all events held in the arena.
If you find that Dinkytown isn't quite cutting it, there is additional food in Stadium Village (on Washington Ave just east of the University).

10K is about the only time I'm glad to have reactive hypoglycemia and intolerance to a boatload of food ingredients. Basically, I have to eat every hour or so (no joke, I've had it cleared with teachers to eat during class

) and I basically take my lunchbox in with a sheet saying "medical supplies". I don't recommend this if you don't actually need it, but I'm glad to be able to have food on hand, since my teammates (including Camren

) have seen what I'm like when I haven't eaten. This is the one time I've seen them be lenient on the food issue. We assumed it'd be the same at St. Louis so I brought the same sheet, but they weren't even inspecting bags there (I think other people brought food into the Dome, but not the pits

).
