I agree, this question should be rephrased. Wouldn't want drivers doing anything unsupervised (unsafe) based on their interpretation of the word "immediately".

Just to clarify, you actually don't need to start outside your Auto Zone for the extra disc; you just need to be in contact with carpet other than your Auto Zone's.

TEAMS may preload White DISCS in or on the ROBOT before the MATCH.
A. If the ROBOT is in contact with any carpet outside its AUTO ZONE, the ROBOT may preload up to three (3) DISCS.


This means that if you are straddling the Auto Line, in contact with both Auto Zone and center zone carpet, you still get the 3rd disc.
