Re: Team 2980 2013 Open Source Robot
Today was relatively productive. Our team divides up into four separate groups for the first week of the build season. Each group is supposed to come up with their own design, which we present to the community on Friday. The community then votes on which design they think is best, which is what we then have to build.
We currently have four ideas being kicked around.
Kat's group is designing a shooter which has a vacuum to lift disks off of the ground, and then uses a spiral conveyer to lift the disks up into a quarter circle shooter which uses a spinning wheel in the center and a teflon tray on a gimble which can tilt...They want to use a camera to help with auto aiming.
Kyle's group is also designing a shooter, going with a half circle shooter which is loaded from the feeder station. He also wants to put a tilt mechanism on it, They want a scoop to fold out of the front of the robot for floor loading disks. Kyle's group wants to have their robot be 29" tall, use a piston to lift the robot, clamp on to the bar on the tower, and then lift the wheels up off the ground.
Rachel's group wants to make a dedicated climber capable of basically driving up the side of the pyramid. It would use weird 3 wheeled rollers to drive over the horizontal poles, and have a bucket for dunking disks into the top of the pyramid.
Mallory's group wants to make a speedy currier that loads at the loading station and then rushes back to shoot into the top slot. They want to focus on aiming.
As soon as we have sketches or drawings or something, and I figure out how to post pictures and files we will start posting images...I seam to have forgotten how.
