My team has prototyped a flinging arm (skeet disc launcher type thing), a round shooter (about 90 degrees), and a 1-wheel straight shooter. We are currently converting the 1-wheel into a 2-wheel to see if we can improve upon our design.

The other advandage of the straight-shooter is that it's easier to fit inside this year's compressed frame, especially if you make the shooter's angle adjustable. The other shooters will fit in the robot (we're almost finished a prototype 90 degree round), but you'll start to run out of space fast.
