Maybe this is a bold prediction but I think you will never see it

Not only will many first seeds be unable to climb to the third level and anyone able to climb to the third level will be picked well before 24th in the draft. It isn't like acting as the third in a balance like last year with 4334, these points are self contained and not based on the actions of any other robots so anyone able to 3rd level climb will seed reasonably high and be a key asset to many alliances.

Honestly the only chance I see of it happening is something like the 8th alliance being a full time hanger and them picking two others at the 16th and 17th draft spots -- which is still a bit of a stretch but possible in the deeper events like IRI or a CMP division.

Now if 90 points is enough to win a regional by its self is debatable.


To anyone saying SVR is the place to see it remember that regional is top loaded. There are lots of great teams there but the key to producing a triple climb is a deep midfield the kind of which is seen in Michigan and at Championships.
