Why do you want to do that? Does your laptop not have wireless networking capability?

To clarify Alan's post, the typical setup is "robot <--> DAP-1522 <~~> laptop". Unless your laptop lacks wireless capabilities, this would be the easiest way to program and operate your robot from a laptop.

Our team has always used a router. It expands the range of the wireless at least two-fold, making it much easier to operate the robot at community events or during driver's practice. I would also be interested in an answer to 1605's question. We had no problems connecting using the Robot<->DLink<~>Router<->DS setup before the 2013 driver's station, but now we cannot connect at all. Haven't done much troubleshooting yet though, will update tomorrow after I figure it out.
