Re: Naming the robot

We haven't come anywhere near picking a name for this year's machine, yet. Most of our robot names happen on accident; sometimes we choose them for a teamwide theme, sometimes it occurs based on performance/awards/events. Since we compete in two different annual tournaments, we have double the naming fun.

FRC:
2011: The Brave Little Toaster (Our very first FRC machine. I, personally, called it "Homeslice." )
2012: Patriot Toaster (It looked like a patriot missile launcher, so our teamwide theme was military.)

OCCRA:
I'm not sure of any robot before my Freshman year. I joined the team Sophomore year, but I've heard many stories.
2009: Purple People Eater / H1N1 (Apparently they began with the PPE robot for the first four competitions, then tore it apart the day before the championships while our coach was in a staff meeting and nearly give him a heart attack when he saw the sea of parts lying about. H1N1 was the complete rebirth of PPE built in 9 hours, and was good enough that it took them all the way to the semifinals.)
2009 VEX: Spazzy (It had a bad receiver, so the robot would literally slap itself silly without anyone even near the remote.)
2010: The Tank (Named after our third tournament, when the thing had such a strong drivetrain that it overpowered two opponent machines pushing down on it while climbing up a ramp.)
2010 VEX: Spazzy Two-Point D'0H!
2011: Lucas (We had three human Lucases (Lucai?) on a team consisting of only 16 members that year, so naturally the robot had to be one, too.)
2011 VEX: Steve Spazzy the Third Jr. Jobs (In honor of Steve Jobs, but we still had to maintain the Spazzy legacy simultaneously.)
2012: Beautiful Beast (First year we've won Beautiful Bot, and that thing was positively ferocious!)
2012 VEX: Toast Patrol and Roller Toaster
