There are several places to get free hosting for FRC teams - runneals has stated that if you send him a PM, he can provide additional details.
Google Sites is quite restrictive and I've never seen a professional-looking site created with it.
Get a free or cheap hosting account and install Wordpress, pick a good base theme, and start customizing and building your site from there. It can be as simple or complicated as you want.
