The human player ("Feeder") is in the Alliance Station, and not allowed to leave it during the match. From the Game Manual glossary (section 6.1):

So I would say, No, the human player definitely can't use any mechanism to help throw discs. Even if these rules aren't explicit enough, it doesn't seem like Gracious Professionalism to do such a thing, IMHO.
