I don't know about Pink's 2006 bot's state out of the crate, but they were a force to be reckoned with at Florida that year, as well as going on to win Boston and eventually lose to the World Champions in division finals.
Pink's 2007 story is the quintessential "Pink effect" moment. At their first regional, they tore apart their entire arm at Florida, missed several qualification matches and were seeded last, 51st out of 51 teams. They were picked by 180, and were the primary tube scorer on their alliance, going to 3 matches in semifinals before ducking out to 179, 1902 and 108 (who sat the match out for mechanical problems). They scored a keeper and 4 or 5 tubes in their
first quarterfinals match, putting up 104 points. Simply put, nobody but Pink tears down their robot, misses almost all of their Friday qualification matches, seeds last, and then is a first round draft pick and primary scorer on an alliance. You just don't do that.
Pink would go on to win the Archimedes division as an alliance captain with 71 and 179, before losing in 3 close matches to the Newton alliance in Einstein finals.
