I'm puzzled why I've never heard of this Macklemore. He's got good stuff in his music—a proper instrumental track, amusing satire, trenchant commentary on consumerism and religion, proper reverence for baseball and delicate political activism. On his website, he even posted this genuinely thoughtful justification for watering down his song critiquing consumerism so the NBA could use it without offending Nike—and how in doing so, he was craftily playing the long game.

Oh, and that was a pretty cool robot too.
