Thank you for all the complements on the Video Archiving, we really wanted to improve the quality this year.
We use a GoPro Camera (
www.gopro.com) mounted to a painters pole (
http://www.amazon.com/Mr-Long-Arm-32.../dp/B00004YUPO) that is in a deck umbrella stand (
http://www.amazon.com/Adams-8129-48-.../dp/B000GD54H0) filled with sand (simple and effective). We then use an Elgato Game Capture HD (
http://www.gamecapture.com/) to record the feed from the GoPro (at 720p via HDMI Cable). The Elgato software has the ability to upload to YouTube builtin, it also lets us record and upload the videos at the same time. Our old system we could only do one at a time. Then we have a team member that sits at a laptop and clicks record right before they start and stop at the end of the match. Then they click upload load to YouTube (very simple).
The only downside to our system is that we dont get the "Real Time" Scoring in the video feed but we are trying to look at ways to do this.
Personally, I think this is something that FIRST should do at all of the Events. They want to "Connect A Million Minds" or get involved with "Social Media" then having all of the match videos on YouTube is a great place to start.
