Yeah...
It is just a bit sad... at the slightest mention of a robotics competition, people immediately ask "what kinda weapons do you use? pick axe? flame thrower?"
I tell them, "it's not battlebots, this competition actually has a purpose that's NOT blowing 6 weeks of your life up"
to which they reply, almost without fail "aww, what's the fun in that."
Obviously they've not seen or been to any formal FIRST competition, it's more then enough fun for me.
