At the Lone Star Regional there were two robots that successfully climbed for 30 but no dumpers. 148 had a system where they theoretically could go for 50, but they had issues climbing and a few falls.

I'm curious as to what that extra 20 points does to change the dynamic if the game. It's already been proven that the third level climb is nowhere near as decisive as expected, but what about that extra 20 points added on? Is that extra 20 pushes the robot from an asset to a necessity?

My team consistently climbed for 30, but did not have a dumping mechanism. We went 7-3 and seeded 13 of 57. We lost one match by 10 and another by 7. If we would have had the additional 20 points we would have went 9-1 and probably ranked 2nd. The extra 20 would have been huge. As people tune in their shooters and scores start rising it might not get that big of a jump but still pretty significant.
