I'm not certain it's well known, but I'm 90% positive that in the closest high scoring match of the Finger Lakes Regional, the
113:112 match, the Human player from team 250 made two goals!! (I am 100% certain that he made two in a match, and I'm 90% certain
I took this photo just after that [he had 3 disks] - just my brain is 10% fuzzy on if it was the same match
) I unfortunately cannot tell from the video posted to TBA if the HP made it... But you can see in the photo before it, he had a stack of 3, and you can see one in the air from the other HP (which I think you see the other kid throw in the TBA video) - and none are visible on the ground in front of the red goals... so even if he made 1/3, he still technically "won" the match for the team
I remember him being very good, so it wouldn't surprise me! Unfortunately that alliance lost the next two matches, so I guess he didnt change the fate of the Regional
If that isn't inspiration to get out there and practice your hammer throws, Im not sure what is!!
All in all, I was incredibly impressed with a lot of the HP's at Finger Lakes - there were several that could make at least one in a match! And I wouldnt be surprised if there were more stories from there of HPs winning the matches. I hope to see more great HPs at upcoming events!
