We love the setup because of how simple it is. Small pulley on 550, slightly bigger pulley on shooter wheel shaft, timing belt between them, done. It also allowed for us to change wheel speeds down the road if we wanted to tweak something. Just a pulley/belt, or pulley/pulley swap to adjust speed up or down on either wheel.

In the future, ditch those silly belts and go to the promise land of 2mm gt2. It's more or less the same pitch (.079 versus .08"), but is far stronger (as you already know). SDP has a HUGE selection of plastic pulleys that we love for it.
This year's shooter and the last used 2mm. Love it.
