As the driver who was almost entirely shutdown by 869 and their intense defence, I can certainly attest to defence being a viable strategy to build a robot for.

What they really exemplify though, is that no matter what game you build a robot for, it is only going to be really effective if you commit to being the best at that one strategy rather than waffling and being just OK at multiple game tasks. Karthik's golden rules.

On that note, a game where you can actually score using defence would be neat. Not just pushing, but something where you actually get points for keeping an opposing robot from a certain zone.
