As a member of 16's drive team, I am not entirely aware of what incident you are referring to, but I can give you a
real explanation as to why we "couldn't climb." The answer is simple, one of the two CIM motor wires got pinched in the robot during rotation of the climber somehow, nothing to do with the piece sticking out. Also to keep you from worrying, you did not do any damage to our climber. The part you hit was made of two 1" diameter steel threaded rods that can withstand a 2000 lb load.
