Here's an overview of the program:

"The BlackBerry® Scholars Program is a global four-year scholarship program for outstanding women entering their first year of undergraduate study at an accredited college or university. The Program is designed to help increase the number of women studying and influencing the future of mobile computing, including Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, and particularly those with an interest and/or aptitude in the mobile computing space. Women who will be entering their first year of study in the 2013-2014 academic year and are interested in this scholarship may apply for the Program by 5pm EST on the June 26th, 2013 application deadline."

They have 10 full-tuition scholarships available for the upcoming school year, available to female graduates from anywhere in the world. Recipients will be chosen on the basis of:

"Complete applications will be reviewed by a panel comprised of judges and panelists representing the BlackBerry® Scholars Program, whose collective expertise covers a wide range of disciplines. Applicants will be evaluated and selected based on the following criteria, to be weighted equally in the selection determination:
- Secondary school (high school) academic record
- Quality of answers to written essay questions
- Extracurricular, community, and other leadership activities
- Recommendations
- Demonstrated financial need
"

This scholarship is a natural for any young women who have participated in either FIRST or VEX programs throughout high school. I urge all eligible candidates to go out and apply!
