Re: 4-H teams: Chartering and bylaws examples?
This is a version of them:
Exploding Bacon Club By-Laws
Article I
-The name of this club is 4-H Exploding Bacon Robotics Club
Article II
-Official club meetings are held once a month on the first Monday of every month at 7 pm.
-Meetings will be held at the 4-H Building during off season and at the build location during build season.
Article III
-Club meetings include a business meeting and an activity
-Major decisions will be voted on; must have 51% approval and the president must be in favor.
Article IV
-A child must be no younger than 9 years by September 1st of the current year and have not passed their 19th birthday or graduated from high school.
-There is no person limit to the club.
Article V
-The club will operate under the basic principles using Robert Rules of Order.
Article VI
-All club members will be enrolled in at least one project of their choice.
Article VII
-Elections for officers will take place during the last meeting of May.
-If a vacancy occurs during the year, members will vote on a replacement.
-Members who wish to run for an office must be present at election meeting or send a proxy in their place
-All members running for office must present their election speech one meeting prior to voting.
-Voting will be done by ballot.
Article VIII
-Standing committees will be: 1) FRC 2) FTC 3) FLL 4) NEMO 5) Financing
Article IX
-If this club disbands, all assets will be turned over to the County 4-H Foundation or Extension Office. Any club materials will be returned to the County Extension Office/ 4-H Agent.
I think we have since amended article IV to include 6 year olds since we now have a Jr. FLL team
We also have an adult board that has their own set of By-laws
