ehehehe - that one... event... at the NYC regional probably helped in making this rule. For those of you who weren't there, at the NYC regional, the pit announcer was, well, I guess you could call her a New Yorker at heart. Really impatient, really rude, and really getting on everyone's nerves ("Hey Team Blah-bleh-blah, C'MON, YOU'RE LATE, LET'S GOOOOO, LETS GET ON WITH IT!!!!!"). At one point, one of the teams cranked their stereo-cart-system up pretty loud... soon she comes on - "Whoever's playing that music, turn it down!" The team - whoever they were - just cranked it louder. "TURN IT DOWN!" It just went louder. Suddenly everyone in the pits began cheering for the team because they were defying that announcer who was so impatient and so rude to everyone. The story ends when finally the team did turn their system down, most likely from the interfearence from a mentor.
Actually, I just found a picture that my friend took of this lady. Don't be fooled by it - although she looks like a nice friendly grandmother, she has a really harsh tongue.
