When we did NYC in 2011, we werent prepared and it was just way too cold. We didnt do as much as we wanted to, especially in the evenings. A whopping 20-30 degrees! 
Indiana and Utah this past year were just as cold, but we were prepared this time around and didnt have to walk all over like in NYC.
