Re: SCRIW III (South Carolina Robotics Invitational and Workshops 2013)

This email blast just went out to the team contacts:

Quote:
Greetings, SCRIW III teams!

First, we can now announce the schedule for the day. It'll be very familiar if you attended last year:

0800: Pits open to teams
0801: Sync checks*
0940: Check-in closed (Once we make the schedule, that's it.)
0945: Mandatory Driver's Meeting On Field, Qualification Match Schedule Released
1000: Opening Ceremonies
1010: First Match
1200: Lunch Break
1235: Resume Qualification Matches
1500: End Qualification Matches
1505: Alliance Selection
1530: Elimination Rounds Start
1730: Elimination Rounds End (approximate)
1740: Awards (Finalists and Champions) & Breakdown

*A change from last year: to speed up this important process, we will not run full practice matches. After programming your radio, you'll wheel your robot to the field and power it up on your cart under the FTA's instructions to ensure your robot connects through FMS properly. We strongly encourage you to test your robot's other systems at home and in the pit.

We expect teams to play 8-9 qualification matches, and you have very good odds of making the elimination rounds too. Come ready for a lot of fun!

Second, we're thrilled to announce we have 21 great FRC teams signed up for SCRIW III:

281 EnTech GreenVillains Greenville, SC
342 Burning Magnetos North Charleston, SC
343 Metal In Motion Seneca, SC
1293 Pandamaniacs (D5 Robotics) Columbia, SC
1398 Keenan Robo-Raiders Columbia, SC
1539 Clover Blue Eagle Robotics Clover, SC
1553 KC Robotics Team Lugoff, SC
1758 Technomancers Florence, SC
2059 Hitchhikers Apex, NC
2187 Team Volt Conway, SC
2655 Flying Platypi Colfax, NC
2815 Los Pollos Locos Columbia, SC
3459 Team PyroTech Cary, NC
3489 Category 5 North Charleston, SC
3490 Viper Drive Summerville, SC
3506 YETI Robotic Charlotte, NC
4243 STAR Warriors North Charleston, SC
4261 Academic Magnet Raptors North Charleston, SC
4451 ROBOTZ Garage Laurens, SC
4533 Wando Advanced Robotics Mt Pleasant, SC
4582 RoboHawks Myrtle Beach, SC

We still have 9 spots left for FRC--if your neighbors haven't signed up, send them here: http://scriw.org/team-registration-form/

Don't forget about the FLL Scrimmage! We still have plenty of space left for your FLL teams to come try their hands at Nature's Fury. It's just $20 per team, and yes, out-of-state teams are welcome! The place is the same to sign up: http://scriw.org/team-registration-form/

Lunch pre-orders are coming tomorrow. We listened to your feedback from last year, and we think we'll have an even better menu this year. Pre-ordering lunch simplifies your day and supports the host teams. Do note that for a variety of reasons (cleanup and district policy being the biggest), we can not allow outside food or drink into the gymnasium. We appreciate your cooperation.

Volunteers get the best seats! If you've got extra adults traveling with the team that want to get up close and personal, we can always use good hands for queueing, field reset, and other positions on the field. Drop us a line if so.

And finally, thank you! We couldn't put this event on without your continued support. We look forward to putting on the best off-season event in the South.

Sincerely,

Billfred Leverette
SCRIW Planning Committee
