Not necessarily.... If the boxes are removed from the playing field (i.e. pushed/carried out) bridge points could matter. If a bridge blocker can take its alliance partner on the bridge with him they have 50 points. If the partner is good at removing boxing it could be very difficult to defend the 15 boxes needed to win (especially because you can't have just one stack).
As a strategist, I hereby predict the winning alliance this year to be the bridge blocking/box removing pair illustrated above (somebody remember where this is so we can find it again and see how good I am
