Assuming the game this coming year will some type of "target", maybe you don't need to send the entire image to the cRio. You might be able to just sent the target parameters you want to exploit.
Send the data as a string every 100ms, then just have the cRio decode the string and use the information to align with the "target". Let the ITX pc do all the heavy lifting and let the cRio operate the robot.
