For planning: Get a moveable prototype by next week even if it is out of wood and start driving it around to get the drivers and electronics people doing something. You need to work through a speedy design if you have any hope to finish and have some sort of time for testing by week 5 or at least week six.

Don't try to do everything in the competition only Chief Delphi can do that (B.T.W. It was pretty cool to see J.T. give Dr. Joe a wave at Novi, I don't ever get waves from the CEO of GM )

Stay light now and add weight later its easier than the reverse. Everthing seems light until you add the battery, electronics, chains and spockets and suddenly its overweight.

And #1 ask for help, people here will give you great advice on anything you need, it appears you don't want to ask them how to lighten the pneumatics or Electrical system though
