BAA Education Day - Thanks to all

The Baltimore Area Alliance held the 8th annual Education Day yesterday for FRC teams in Maryland. Over 200 students, mentors, and parents joined 30 presenters from 17 teams in Maryland for a full day of learning and sharing.

We have a lot of people to thank.

Our sponsors - The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab Program STEM Office for hosting the event in their beautiful facility. It is a perfect venue for this event. Big open space for workshops and lunch, auditorium and 8 classrooms.

The Maryland Space Business Round Table for their sponsorship.

Famous Dave's of Columbia MD, for providing a delicious BBQ lunch at way less than cost, with on time delivery and efficient set up. The manager has a child who was on a FRC team years ago, and he is still thanking the local FRC community by being a supporter. We had leftovers which went to a local crisis center, delivered by one of the teams. We charged the attendees what Famous Dave's charged us - $5/person. Win for all!

The 30 presenters came from teams, Maryland FIRST and local supporters. Some drove for almost 3 hours each way. We learn each year, and this year presented an advanced track of topics, as well as 101 for various areas. We also had CAD, Labview, Mentor sessions, discussion of the district model, and wonderful panels on Sustainability and on Fundraising. There were 31 sessions in all - each conducted by volunteers. These resources will be posted on the mdfirst.org site.

Lastly, thanks to the organizing committee from the BAA. You all are so much fun to work with.

Go Teams!
