What's the advantage of doing it live instead of sending in a list? - Is it to avoid making a list? (That's half the fun.)
- Are people looking at other tiers for an idea of who to pick?
- Is there a concern that the moderator will misread a list?
- Is it the opportunity for social chatter by following it live?
We are not forming actual alliances that have to play together, so who you get in an early round has little/no bearing on who you draft later on IMO. A list is simply a ranking of which teams you feel will garner the most points under the following criteria.
Quote:
Win, 2 points
Tie, 1 point
Loss, 0 points [Note: this may also be -2 points. Scorer’s discretion.]
Winner, 30 points
Finalist, 20 points
Semifinalist, 10 points
Quarterfinalist, 4 points
1st seed, 20 points
2nd-3rd seed, 12 points
4th-8th seed, 6 points
9th-12th seed, 3 points
13th-16th seed, 2 points
Woodie Flowers Finalist Award, 8 points
Regional Chairman’s Award, 42 points
Engineering Inspiration, 36 points
Rookie All-Star, 20 points
Rookie Inspiration, 15 points
Coopertition Award, 10 points (if in play)
Highest Rookie Seed, 5 points
High score, 5 points
Judges Award, 5 points
Robot-based award (Delphi, Xerox, GM, Rockwell, Motorola), 15 points
Dean’s List, 4 points
Any award not previously mentioned, 2 points
