I think it may depend on the kind of "device" you're talking about, they may have problems with anything that attaches to the walls/sides of the fields, even temporarily. This sounds a bit more like a question for the FIRST boards, but I can't really think of anything that would make them disallow it, as long as it doesn't break bins, tear carpet, or push on any of the pieces of the field. Interesting thought though....
