Re: [FRC Blog] 2014 Game Hint

What's the consensus on Andy Baker's baseball video at this point? I'm feeling like the bulk of the evidence (including that video and the other statements from first and andymark) is pointing in the direction of a baseball-related game. I will also point out that the first thing I noticed about "The Photo" is that the green screen reminds me of the Green Monster. The official hint seems likely to be about weight limits in one way or another, and unrelated to the "theme". So...

If it is baseball, how do you think it could be played? I'm not inclined to think that the only baseball-like part of the game would be the size of the balls; that's too much like Aim High. If it's hitting or striking balls, that might be an interesting challenge. Baseball, by it's nature, is slow moving, which doesn't fit very well with FRC's style. How do you imagine the sport might be modified or adapted to make it a viable FRC game?

I don't have very many answers at this point, and I realize that whatever we imagine, it probably won't turn out to be correct. Still I'd love to see what you all think might be possible.

Thanks!
