I read that as the opposite. They added a restriction to "CATCH" that the ball may not even contact the robot that scored the TRUSS. Previously, you could have touched the ball you threw over the truss without possessing it and still score the catch if your alliance partner proceeded to possess the ball before it touched the carpet.
