Don't quote me on this, but I believe the DXP is also threaded on the cylinder mounting end, in addition to the mounting pin.

The magnet option is beneficial to see if the cylinder is extended or retracted in your code. Last year, we used them on both ends of the cylinder to determine whether our conveyor was fully up or down. It is quite helpful if you need that sort of feedback (the option is free anyway, so you can get them and decide not to use them later. Just remember they will not work on a cylinder that does not have the internal magnets).
