Re: Safety Captain purpose?
Not sure if this is specifically in the manual, but our safety captain has also been responsible for ensuring that the pit area at competitions is in compliance with all safety rules and regulations, as well as keeping safety equipment well maintained.
At home, they run yearly safety training as well as maintaining our first aid kits and doing regular reviews of safety practices. Since this is basically all that student does, this workload isn't excessive.
