CAN Jaguar speed mode notreversing direction.

Hello, my team is attempting to create a CAN Jaguar speed drive system in LabView for our robot this year but we're having some problems. We're using tank drive and each side has two motors, a master and a slave. We're converting the voltage output of one jag and applying it to the other in order to avoid splicing the encoder wires. The problem is that the motors won't reverse direction if the setpoint is instantly reversed. If we put the joysticks full forward, the motors will go forward at the right speed, but if we then slam the joysticks full reverse, the motors will keep going forward. If we stop the robot before changing direction, it works perfectly. We're using 4X encoders and we've checked multiple times that they're wired correctly to the jaguars according to the CAN example supplied by NI so I can't imagine that the direction values are the problem. Voltage mode works perfectly. The weird part is that the example exhibits the same issue as our code. Does anyone have the same issue or know how to fix it?
