FIRST Needs Your Stories!
From Blair Hundertmark, MC Extraordinaire and so much more:
We’re looking for stories from across the FIRST community to share and highlight at the Championship, and we need your help.
Not every great story trickles back to FIRST HQ, so we need you “in the field” who work directly with the Teams to be our conduit.
Specifically, we’re seeking knockout stories of FIRST impact; the goose bump kind of a powerful tale that makes you sit up and take notice, and maybe even tear up... Ideally, a story contains one or more these characteristics of a FIRST Team or person:
- Competent
- Creative
- Compassionate
- Courageous
- Committed Please submit stories to: blair@usfirst.org and cc: dstolnitz@usfirst.org
Thanks for your help!
And please get those stories to us by Monday, March 10th, so we have enough time to get those we select in the FIRST Championship!
And FIRST Needs Your Videos!
More fun at Championship!
We know you have talents far beyond building and programming robots. Send us a video displaying a personal talent – playing sports, juggling, dancing, playing a musical instrument, whatever special talent you may have. We’ll review them and possibly select some, or portions of some, to be shown during the FIRST Championship. Who knows – you may end up on the big screen!
Videos should be no more than 60 seconds long, and be submitted as a Quicktime (.mov) or Windows Media (.wmv) file compressed with the H.264/MPEG-4 codec at 720P or better resolution. Submit your videos here:
https://www.hightail.com/u/FIRSTStage
Please submit your videos by Tuesday, March 18th.
Team RUSH FIRST National Advocacy Conference
How cool is this?
Students and Mentors are invited to attend the 1st Annual FIRST National Advocacy Conference presented by Team 27 in Washington, DC. The conference is taking place on June 15-17, 2014, and is an opportunity to meet with Senators and Members of Congress to tell them about FIRST and STEM! Space is limited! Check out the details here: www.teamrush27.net/nac.pdf.
As everyone knows, there are three stages of ‘Rock’:
- Rock
- Completely Rock
- Rock, Completely
For the record, this idea rocks, completely. Thanks Team RUSH!
