Re: [NE FIRST] UNH District Event 2014

Wow what a fantastic event! When we first arrived on Wednesday night I will admit I was a little skeptical of the new event with the load in fiasco & late arrival time but a lot of these issues were out of the control of the planning committee due to UNH's facilities and getting late access to the building. Overall it was a fantastic event with great energy, large pits, great referee/field crew, and all of the volunteers who made it happen. Thank you!

This was quite a weekend for our team as we have had a long history of starting off slow at our first event of the season but our students worked hard and proved us wrong! All of our sub-teams have been working hard over the past few weeks preparing for this event more dedicated than before! I can't be prouder of what they have done! Winning the Chairmans award was an honor but the credit has to go to the students who have worked so hard over the past four years to grow our team, organization, spread FIRST, work year round, and continually strive to improve everything we do!

To our partners 58 and 4555 you guys were amazing and we couldn't have asked for better partners. All three of our robots meshed so well together on the field with 58 leading the front end scoring and 4555 playing some of the best clean defense I have seen. We were very surprised that 4555 was still available to us that late in the draft considering they were in the top 8 for autonomous points. Unfortunately their robot was so smart that it was detecting both 58 and us moving forward in auto which threw their consistent autonomous routine off the mark. Both 58 and 4555 have amazing robots and we wish both of you the best moving forward to your next events and we hope to play with you again! The Blue Team forever!

To 176, 131, and 3597 you guys formed an amazing alliance at the event all with three amazing robots! Your alliance played extremely smart in the final matches with fast transitions from offense to defense. You are all some of the nicest, professional teams on the field during a competition. Can't wait to see what this season has in store for both 131 & 176 as you have both built two great robots!

Congratulations to our good friends on 1058 for winning the Excellence in Engineering it was well deserved award for the high quality robot you guys built that played hard yet didn't break in the heat of competition. Can't wait to see what you guys bring to NU in a few weeks!

Finally a shout out to team 126 Gael Force! While I wasn't in the stands too much I heard tons of stories from our team saying how much fun they had sitting together with you guys in the stands and it was fun finally getting a chance to play together with you guys in a match! I love how quick & agile your robot is combined with that fast truss to HP shot you used a few times in our match. I can't wait to see what you guys improve and bring to NU in a few weeks but I really hope we get more chances to play together!
