On html side login at frcscout.com will not allow location crossroads. only the first 5 o f the valid locations are listed. wpi not there either. tried crossroads after seeing that someone had used frc scout extensively there.
I'm not doing well in the info-age. I hope the kids can grok this mess as I will not be able to represent it at all well to them.

I'm going to do my best to understand what you've typed...
The app is NOT input only. You can easily view every ounce of recorded data that you record on the page labeled "Data" with a 3 data stack icon as the page icon (at the bottom of the screen of the app).
On the Data page, you can view every detail of individual recorded teams by tapping the "Single Team" button. Regional specific data (like rankings, alliance selection, and the Next Match view) are all available by tapping the "Within Regional" button. Again, this is all accessed on the Data page.
If you want to record fake data to test the app out, you can easily erase it by going to the "More" page (the three circles icon on the bottom) and tapping the "Delete Local Database" button.
As for your comment on frcscout.com, I have absolutely NO connection with the frcscout.com. I am sorry for your bad experiences with that website, but that has nothing to do with my app. I really have nothing available for users on the web as of right now, it's only on the iPads.
I believe the most success from using this app (and the feature that puts it above the rest) is the bluetooth sharing capabilities. Simply go to the More page (again, on the bottom of the app) and then turn on the "Host" switch on the top left and have another iPad with the app open on that page nearby. Make sure both iPads have bluetooth turned on, and the Host iPad should see the other iPad. Simply select that iPad's name on the Host iPad's screen, then you can connect from there. After that, just tap send on the page to send any data from one connected iPad to another.
I'm sorry for your confusion. I wish the best for you and your team and I will continue to be following this thread closely if you happen to have any other questions.
