Are you asking about Championship? Teams sign up for regionals when they register. Then later you get a second choice opportunity and then later...
Thankfully some one else on the team has to handle this.
For Champs you have to first earn a spot. Then if there are any opening slots, they go to first come first served based on team number. All the info is on the FIRST Website.
