Re: [FF]: Season Long Format Change Discussion

Still thinking about dealing with the district drafts and their elimination, I came up with an idea. Hold your fire until I suggest it, then bring on the pitchforks and torches.

One draft per district area, 6 teams per player, held over 2 days, with (or without) a random reshuffling of players in between days. Scores are calculated as the average score from all district events the team plays at.

How it would work in practice (there are technical issues with running a single 6-pick draft right now): A thread would be started for the district area draft (just to pick on MI, I'll use them). All the MI teams are on the available list; only the first three round times are shown on the first night. Players submit all their lists and all that fun stuff. Run through the draft. IMMEDIATELY after the draft finishes, a SECOND draft goes up under the first one, in the same thread, using the remaining available teams list from the first one (and all the picklists are transferred unless changed) with a different player order, to be run the next day. Second day, run draft as normal, consolidate team list for all teams, post final with any leftover teams showing as available.

Then score as normal, just with 2x the number of teams. DCMP drafts as normal at the end of regional season.

OK, you can unleash the men in white coats with their straitjacket now...
