Re: Training New Drivers
On my team, before build season starts, we give everyone a chance to drive the robot, see how good they are, train the people that don't know how to drive. Then when build season starts, the people interested will sign a contract of rules of drive team ( no drama, arguments, etc.) but my team also has rules like freshmen can't be on primary drive team , primary team does competitions, secondary goes off season. So after you sign, you take a short test on basic rules , game rule , and scoring. You have to at least get an 80%. After everyone takes it, the coach and drive team lead mentor pick the primary and secondary drive team.
