I have been to the Palmetto regional twice. Once in 2011 when it was in Charleston and last year when it was in Mrytle Beach. Last year, our experience as a team was great. We enjoyed the regional, there were teams from two other countries and across the states which is always a plus. The venue was one of the best I have been to. The regional was well run and the volunteers were friendly. Also, I know that we received a pretty good deal on hotel rooms that were beachfront since it was their off season. The only down side is that the regional is week one, but I know that some teams like that extra pressure. I have not been to the Virginia Regional so I can not give you any feedback. Good luck!
