2nd Annual Ga Girls First Event

This late notice so if you are an Atlanta team or happen to be in the Atlanta area next weekend.... (And of the girl, young women, or women persuasion). This is event mostly promoting women in STEM, but will scrimmage Ariel ascent robots. Even if you see this past Tues, please contact us & we will fit you in.

Attention everyone! Our second GirlsFIRST event is on Saturday, October 18th. It is hosted by our team (Walton Robotics, team 2974) at our build site and is open to girls on all Georgia FRC teams, and will be a great way to address barriers to girls in STEM fields and even in FIRST Robotics. The day will include:
  • Robot Scrimmages (so bring a robot, if possible!)
  • A keynote speaker (Nicole Faulk, Georgia Power) and a discussion panel with female professionals such as Jessica Osborn (Randstad)
  • Bring any lawn chairs you have for this; any extras would be appreciated!
  • An “outreach in a box” activity to target girls outside of FIRST Robotics
Lots of opportunities to socialize and network with girls on other teams and women in STEM fields
If any girls on your team are interested in attending, please complete this registration form by this Tuesday, October 14th, so we can have an accurate head count for food.

Also, go to the GirlsFIRST page on our website (http://waltonrobotics.org/girlsfirst-2-0/) for more information.
