HPs may not reach out into the field space nor may your robot reach into your HP's space. The refs probably will not call brief incursions that only go in an inch or two, but I think an 8" intrusion will be obvious and will get called. Remember: if an HP is holding the close edge of a crate and their fingers are above the rail, the crate will extend over 12" out onto the field. HPs also need to keep their feet inside the HP zone at all times.
