Actually, the 2014 rules don't specify a color. All R35 says is " Anderson Power Products (or APP) Connectors (p/n SB50)", which is available in multiple colors, but different colors don't mate (except for black and grey).

I'm fairly certain that, if asked, the 2014 GDC would have said that only the red connector is allowed, since part of the reasoning of a single connector is to allow all batteries, chargers and robots to be interchangeable across teams.
