If you play each match with 2 other teams, and against 3 other teams, why have you assumed that you will play WITH 2/3 of the teams (in total) but AGAINST only 1/3? Seems it should maybe be the other way around.

Also, don't the points scored for your alliance only (second scenario, no coopertition) get you "ahead" of ALL of the other teams except the two on your alliance? Whereas the points scored for coopertition get you ahead of (i.e., move you up relative to) all but 6 teams - those in your match?
