The drylin guides are great and won't break for this application. Torque will prevent a single slider from moving quite easily. If you have 2 sliders with a distance between them it will diminish the effect that a load will apply to it. It will also decrease your range of motion of the Drylin guide which may be a problem. If memory serves then the Drylin linear guides are 30" long. If you are trying to lift something >25" I would look at another option like www.Competitionrobotparts.com.
