Re: Lifting mechanism

In 2010 we lifted our entire robot with a single CIM, a 12:1 Banebots planetary (p80), and a four-start lead screw.

It took about five seconds to lift ~150 lbs eighteen inches.

So one CIM can certainly lift 60-70 lbs of totes and containers. But can it do it as fast as you want it to? Will it resist backdrive? (Do you need it to?) Will it be efficient? Is it cost, battery, and weight efficient?

These answers require math.
